Fun and exhilarating, zip lining is an adventure you won’t want to miss when you visit Maui. I recommend this activity as a fun way to take in the beauty of the island and get your adrenaline pumping. You’ll soar high above lush Hawaiian valleys, eucalyptus forests, green pangola grass pastures, breathtaking seascapes, and jungle-covered hills all while catching a glimpse of colorful birds and other indigenous wildlife.
Morning time is ideal to go before the temperatures rise, and wildlife is likely to be more active. Minimal hiking is involved, so comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or unfastened shoes) are necessary.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. There are several options to try, so call us for details and to book.

Immerse yourself in the lush landscape of our beautiful island with a scenic hike along the rugged coastal exterior or the lush rain forest interior. One of the best routes is along the Hāna Highway, where you’ll see Haleakalā volcano, towering bamboo and rain forests.
Hiking pamplets can be found at our Concierge Desk if you want to explore alone. To get the best experience, though, go with a guide, who will make sure you are learning while visiting spots only accessible with a guide. The Kapalua Trails, located just 6 miles from the resort, are some of my favorites with options for every skill and fitness level. Each time I go with a guide I'm able to access areas not available to the general public, making a spectacular experience even better.
We can help make sure you find the perfect hiking path and guide based on your experience and comfort level. Contact us ahead of time so we can book this unforgettable experience for your group.

Nothing can prepare you for the feelings you will experience on the summit of the Haleakalā volcano. The trip down is equally thrilling. Your journey begins with a panoramic sunrise view of Haleakalā Crater in Haleakalā National Park. Visually stunning, the summit area is enormous. After sunrise, you’ll coast down from the 6,500-foot elevation through 21 switchbacks. It's a 28-mile downhill ride on paved roads with a mere 400 yards of pedaling.
During your ride, you will see unbelievable views of the islands of Hawai‘i, Molokini, Kahoolawe, Lāna‘i, and the West Maui Mountains. You'll also discover pineapple and sugar cane fields, along with many exotic plants and flowers. You'll arrive at sea level in Paia, the original territorial capital of Hawai‘i.
When dressing for the ride, you’ll want to wear layers. The morning can be very chilly, so bring clothes you can shed as things heat up. Also, don’t forget sunglasses. If you’re going for the sunrise experience, you will be heading out early in the morning while it’s still dark.
Reservations are required for experiencing the sunrise on Haleakalā. We can help arrange your reservation so you don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime activity.

Ride the dunes or choose to venture out to Los Cabos’ best-kept secret terrain on your own personal all-terrain vehicle. On one side, find rugged desert beauty perfect for ATV exploration; on the other, sweeping views of the beach and the Sea of Cortez!
These exciting tours put a priority on safety. Helmets are required, and all tour companies provide them, along with goggles and lunch or refreshments for your ride. Try to book a trail along the ocean, or a sunrise or sunset ride, or try one of the tours that explores the mountainside hills and cascading tropical waterfalls — sure you’ll get wet, dirty, and maybe even tired, but it’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime blast to experience. Whatever your pace, contact your Concierge to help you find the best tour for you.

A number of world-class courses make Los Cabos one of the best destinations for golf anywhere. Cabo Real Golf Club features a multi-themed, target-style course with beautiful fairways boasting views of the Sea of Cortez. Club Campestre San José Golf combines sweeping ocean views with rich fairways chiseled into the rolling foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains. Ask your Concierge about special pricing and discounts on these courses and more, and they’ll be happy to set you up with a great outing.
Twilight tee times can be quite popular, as the prices are often better, and Los Cabos enjoys daylight until 8 p.m. or later during the summer months. Stop by the Concierge Desk to get further details for each golf course, special packages and assistance for booking your tee times directly with the courses at the best prices available.

With calm waters, extraordinary fishing and perfect weather, day sailing is one of the most popular activities in Los Cabos. Whether you want to take a cruise to Santa Maria Bay on a luxury yacht, go whale-watching for giant humpbacks, take a thrilling ride on a jet ski, or enjoy a romantic day cruise, the options are almost endless.
And when it comes to sportfishing, the offshore waters here are among the world’s best. Wake up at dawn for a charter bound for a fishing adventure you won’t soon forget — it’s easy — just contact your Concierge to get you started. Our team will always go above and beyond so you get the most exciting trip with the confidence of fishing with experienced crews that will take you right where the best fishing is that day.

If you want to get up close and personal with all the marine life just below the surface, there are many amazing areas to experience off the coast of Maui. However, one of the best spots is just steps from your villa on North Kā‘anapali Beach.
Masks and fins can be rented for a minimal fee near the main pool at The Westin Kā’anapali Ocean Resort Villas. Floats, sunscreen, and other sundries are also available for purchase, so just stop by to stock up before heading out.
When you’re ready to venture a little further, here are a few more of my favorite snorkeling areas:
Located on South Kā‘anapali Beach, the iconic Black Rock is a must-see. Even though it’s a popular destination, the long span of the beach typically allows for plenty of room to explore the variety of fish along the rock wall.
Distance from the resort: 5 minutes
Spread out your towels on the sugar-sand beach and make a day of exploring the two reefs that protect the bay.
Distance from the resort: 15 minutes
This ancient volcanic crater is located just a few miles off the coast and is almost half a mile wide. The sheltering arms of the crater create an ideal aquatic habitat with excellent water clarity.
Distance from the resort: Most trips to Molokini depart from Maalaea Harbor. Plan on a 45-minute drive to the harbor from the resort.
High rocky cliffs. Breathtaking views. It’s all here on Maui’s northwest coast. Since no fishing is allowed, there is a density and diversity of sea life that is second to none. If you are hiking here, wear shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Distance from the resort: 15 minutes
This is a go-to spot for laid-back exploring. Keep your eyes open for sea turtles and a multitude of colorful tropical fish. Afterward, head up to Sea House for the Whale Watcher’s Happy Hour, which starts at 2 p.m.
Distance from the resort: 15 minutes

This famous arc-shaped natural rock formation, locally known simply as “El Arco,” is an iconic symbol of Los Cabos, and a must-see for any visitor. Set at the extreme southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, El Arco is also a gathering point for sea lions and other wildlife, some of which you can even see right from the resort, living in an unspoiled atmosphere. When on your tour, you can get to feed the sea lions as they come close to your boat.
When visiting, get in the rhythm of Los Cabos and take the time to sit back and relax on the beach, and, of course, don’t miss out on this perfect photo op — framing the sky, sea, and sand. What’s more, visiting El Arco itself via boat virtually guarantees an amazing snorkel or scuba outing. Tours tend to fill up quickly, so be sure to ask your Concierge Team to help you find the best itinerary for you.

What better place to learn this ancient sport than in the place it was invented? A lesson at one of Maui's surf schools will provide you with surfing basics, from paddling out and popping-up to reading the waves and spotting incoming sets.
Professional instructors welcome all aspiring surfers and adapt their teaching style to the ability of each student. Surf lessons typically include reef shoes, a long-sleeve rash guard and surfboard. As an experienced surfer, I love surfing Ka‘anapali Point and know I can get help when I need it from the lessons offered seven days a week. For beginners, a good tip to remember is that the earlier in the day you go, the easier it is (since the water is calmer in the morning). And sunscreen is a must. It’s easy to forget once you’re in the water, so put it on early.
We can help you book private, semi-private, or group surf lessons. But don’t wait. I love the fact that we offer board rentals at the resort, so you don't have to worry about bringing one or storing it. This is a popular activity and spots fill fast.
